A rainy Autumnal wedding at Sustainable wedding venue
September weddings usually provide gorgeous Indian summer sunshine...but for 2024 it ended up being a pretty rainy month for all my weddings. However, I actually love days like this as it adds to the atmosphere and storytelling nature of my images. Especially when Nina + Will were still willing to get married outdoors under the giant oak tree at Lower House Farm with the rain clouds rolling across the Black Mountains - it somehow made it ten times more romantic.
This was my first time at Lower House Farm (Wild By Nature Weddings) and it did not disappoint! Similar to Nancarrow Farm in Cornwall, this venue provides sustainable farm weddings, inspired by nature.
With large open spaces and intimate hideaways. Beautiful places to stay, gather and celebrate. Award winning food, produced on the farm and cooked over fire. Ancient woodlands, winding streams and Black Mountains air.
Weddings at Lower House Farm are as wild as they come.
Nina the bride is also a wonderful florist so of course her incredible florals complimented the venue and added a splash of pastel colours to the rainy tones of the Herefordshire countryside. Though my favourite part of the day was definitely the wedding breakfast - the party spirit came alive with tasty sharing platters, emotional speeches and a backdrop of the wonderful pink lime washed walls made for such a cosy environment. Would love to go back to this venue - maybe on a sunshine filled day - but I don't think any day will ever be as romantic as this wild weather one...even when the bridal car broke down on the way to wedding we couldn't help but laugh and embrace it all. Because these are the memories that stick with us for the rest of time to come...
